Melbourne Council gives The Venny adventure playground a $126,000 lifeline

THE Venny adventure playground in Kensington will be saved from having to slash its services under a Melbourne Council plan to provide emergency support. As previously reported, The Venny was one of five staffed adventure playgrounds that had its Federal Government funding axed, putting its programs in jeopardy. You might already know about this fabulous Welsh play initiative, but it's well worth taking a look at the very clear explanation in the YouTube video. Wrexham has deeply embedded play into its policies and practice - in fact into all its thinking. And here in the banana republic of Oz, our Federal government decides that adventure playgrounds for marginalised children aren't worth funding anymore!
